Interact Clubs of Royal and Santa Susana High Schools in Simi Valley, CA have achieved Congressional recognition for their outstanding and invaluable contributions to promote Peace and Literacy in developing countries. Simi Valley Interact club members created the international cause Peace and Literacy with the assistance and sponsorship of the Simi Valley Rotary Club and Simi Sunset Rotary Club.
Recently, Congressman Elton Gallegly awarded the Simi Valley Interact clubs with special Congressional Recognition for their ambassadorial contributions to promote peaceful coexistence throughout the world.
The Interact Peace and Literacy cause will now be focusing their fundraising efforts to support PACE Universal and the Piyali Learning Center in Kolkata, India. Club members intend to sponsor a PLC girl.
The annual Asparagus Festival in Stockton, CA draws over 100,000 asparagus lovers and provides the students of the People to People Student Chapter an excellent opportunity for fundraising. The students volunteer at the Delta Rotary food booth and this year dedicated their proceeds to PLC. The past two years the students have sponsored a PLC student and donated to the Building Fund as well.

The Interact club of Westhampton Beach High School in Long Island NY sponsors PLC student Mousumi Mondal. The members, aged 14-18, are active in local events and Rotary club projects, including providing coats for the local needy and volunteering at a camp for the handicapped. Shown below are some of the members serving at a wedding to raise funds.
